There are a lot of tips, concerning splitting pairs. A lot of experts explain, why, for example, you should always split sevens, or only split sevens if the dealer has a two, three or four and so on.  But this article offers you to choose your own strategy, depending on the series of mathematical calculations and on the probabilities, when it comes to pairs.

Splitting Aces can considerably improve your hand. Note that when you split the ace pair, draw, as a rule, a ten, a seven, eight or nine, draw two through six.

Splitting Eight and Above. It is understandable that pairs eight and above are already in winning positions. But one question here is left: Will you improve your position, if you split these cards? Sometimes, there can be a positive answer on this question. But when splitting face cards, you are more likely to reduce your hand than increase it. As with face cards the only higher value is an ace, there is a low probability that you draw the higher card. However everything is possible.

Splitting the Sevens. It is better to split the sevens, because 14 is a fairly weak hand, but if the dealer busts, there is the probability that you’ll win. But your decision to split sevens will significantly improve your hand, if you draw eight or higher card. It is not bad as well, if you draw a four or less, you can hit again.

Splitting Two through Six. There is a low probability to improve your hand with splitting other pairs of cards, except perhaps the pair of six’s. But if you draw a seven through face, it will only give you a max of sixteen.

Splitting at Blackjack always makes you think and decide, what is better to do next. Choose your own splitting strategy and become a winner at Blackjack.
