Everybody has ever heard about such a term as “the point of breakeven” – the percentage of predictability, after having it reached the player quits losing. May be, many of you even have read about the influence of financial strategy on this point, when others are absolutely sure of that the use of such a strategy as flat can lead to positive results. Let’s see what the famous gambler and the theorist said regarding this system:
“The biggest mistake that losers make while making bets, is the constant change of sizes of bets. This can give you a guarantee of big losses and it doesn’t matter what causes different sizes of your bets – it can be instinctive, spontaneous, thoroughly worked out decisions or complicated progressive systems. Let’s consider popular progressive systems and see why they sometimes lead inevitably to losses”.
See the table below, according to which we understand that the amount of games is equal to 100, flat bet is 5 units, the percentage from the bank is 5% and the ratio is 1.9.

Note: points of breakeven and key positions are noted with black print.
According to this table we see the shift of points of breakeven. But here we notice one interesting moment: the strategy “the percentage from the bank” begins to bring big profits, starting from 59% predictability, while profits, using flat, are increased according to the ordinary linear law.
